Invest in Yourself
Gwen Daubenmeyer has been in the real estate business for over thirty years. She is a business owner with an extremely successful team, and she works directly with clients as well. As an entrepreneur, leader, coach, and mentor, Gwen is undeniably inspirational and a wealth of knowledge! In this episode of Pursuing Freedom, she shares her amazing story. Gwen explains how she took the wheel of her own life and built a business that she doesn’t need a vacation from—a business that matches her strengths and supports her dream life.
Overcoming Fear and Failure
The real estate business is full of ups and downs, so resilience and mindset are very important! Gwen faced hard times while she worked to get the business on its feet. And during that process, Gwen’s husband lost his job as well. Fear and failure are inevitable, the longer you are in this industry, but they can shape you into a much stronger person if you push through. For that to happen, you need to be transparent with yourself (not judgmental) and think critically about what you could have done differently. The lessons you learn from failure make it easier to overcome in the future. Gwen even hired a coach so she could approach the failures with more objectivity!
Continuing Education
Beyond coaching and mentorship, continuing education is a must for those of you who want to get a leg up in the real estate business. Gwen and her husband married directly out of high school, and they didn’t go to college. They were masters of networking and managing people, but they lacked the fundamental skills to operate a business. That doesn’t have to be a roadblock though. If you want to learn new things that will help you grow personally and professionally, there are tons of resources available to you. Get out there and learn something new, then apply it in your own business.
