Real Estate Planning in Q4
Planning is one of the most powerful real estate tools that we have at our disposal. Every year, I geek out about planning as we approach the 4th quarter, because it is one of the few business activities that guarantee success if done properly! It is one of the three pillars of success in real estate, and it keeps you on track as you build a life and business that you don’t need a vacation from! In this solocast episode of Pursuing Freedom, I walk through the fundamentals of the planning process and explain how to prep for a lucrative year using my framework.
The Key Components of Planning
Real estate tools like planning are easier to use when you break them down and look at the different parts. Planning is made up of three key components: reflection, vision, and scheduling. If you don’t take time to reflect, you’ll never know what to tweak moving forward. If you don’t have a clear vision, you’ll have no idea where to go or what you need to do to get there. Lastly, if you don’t create some sort of schedule, you’ll have no idea how to measure your progress or make adjustments as necessary. Combined, they produce serious results while eliminating energy-draining activities and shortening your workweek. This is something that every real estate professional should be doing, no matter how you feel about it initially. We have covered reflection and vision a lot, but scheduling is something that many of us try to avoid.
Real Estate Tools: Scheduling
If you have been following the show for a while, you’ve probably heard me talk a lot about real estate tools like time blocking, morning routine, etc. But we haven’t spent much time looking at planning as part of the big picture. Scheduling is a huge piece of it, and it is a word many real estate professionals despise. Most of us became our own bosses so we don’t have to adhere to a schedule. But the reality is that without one, you’ll find yourself working far more hours than you were at your previous job. With no gameplan, you waste a ton of time and energy making decisions every single day. Don’t let other people’s agendas determine how you run your life! Once you master the planning process, the power to win the day is in your hands.
